I have heard all this talk about taking out a dvd drive from the stand alone dvd player to the computer. I would like to know if there is someone out there who has some sort of plans or somehting to tell me how to do this without a hitch.

Hi.
No problem. I have a Mishine DVDplayer. I just take off the cover, and connect the drive in the player with a IDE cabel from my computer. Just power up your computer & DVDplayer and windows find the drive without any problem. Hope you figure it out. Best regards Michael -
Like I said LAST time you posted this question, just go out and buy a DVD-Rom for $20... At that price there is NO reason to do what you're asking.

I too use my settop DVD player... I hacked a perfectly good $170 DVD player, invested $200 of interface and guess what! I dont have to spend $49 at Staples for a DVD drive now! But then again, my DVD player doesnt work anymore and my computer shot sparks. Maybe next time...
