When Ripping a DVD to DVD how can I add 1 or more switchable subtitles.
i have read some of what has been posted here
I usually use RipIt4Me ands the software that works with it.
The DVD may not have or only one subtitle.
MySubtitles.com has subtitles for quite a few movies and some in a few different languages.
they are all in Text format .txt
I have to extract the menus and then extract the subtitle(s)?
I see it could be a big problem editing the setup menu to add the additional subtitles.
I am a little confused
Is it better to create a new setup menu?
Are the txt files subtitle samples below easily converted into the right format to add to the movie? what is the best format?
which program would take these and do that?
If it's possible could you list the general steps I would have to take and post a link if that step need detailed directions & would be particular hard to locate here or the web.
some of the guides are couple of years old
What is the current best way with free ware?
What is the current best way with paid ware?
I want to add a couple foreign languages subtitles.
Thank you,
Joey

DVD Lab Pro will convert .srt subs to the correct format and add them to your DVD.

they are all in Text format .txt when I download.
How and with what program do I convert them to .srt subs? -
Anytime you see a subtitle file that looks like this:
1
00:00:08,595 --> 00:00:14,417
When I first came to Los Angeles,
it looked like just this mass of dots.
2
00:00:17,645 --> 00:00:20,242
All jumbled and disconnected.
with the format:
Subtitle number (starting with 1 and going up)
XX:XX:XX,XXX --> XX:XX:XX,XXX
one or two lines
of text here
it is SRT format. So they're already in SRT format. -
Do I just edit the text file and remove the first one that starts with a 0
so 1 it at the top? Then I just save the file as .SRT? -
Download and install Subtitle workshop. With it you can convert almost every subtitle format to almost every. Load the .txt, edit how you like it and save as Subrip format (.srt)
