  1. Hello boys, girls and people of indifference.

I am looking to buy a DVD writer but I have to admit to being completely baffled.

I want to get one that will allow me to backup my playstation 2 games and DVDs as well as being able to put home movies and TV stuff onto DVDs.

I started looking into it but started getting completely baffled by all this +r - r rw stuff.

Would some kindly soul please explain what all this stuff means and what difference it makes.

I have read through some, but by no means all, of the messeges on the forum but I am none the wiser.

    I need real laymen terms.

Thanks in advance for any help.
