  1. i use tmpeg to incode then used nero to burn the svcd. it plyas fine and sound is good but the movie is in black and white can someone help me. my dvd player is a phillips 724at

    Hard to answer your question without more information. What was the source file? Did you capture it with a capture card as an AVI file? Did you view the source file before you encoded it in TMPEG? Maybe the source file is in b&W and the problem is in capturing. Provide us with more information and someone here might be able to help.

  3. no its a avi file that i got of direct connect and i encoded it to a svcd with tmpg and it played on windvd fine but then when i burnt it with nero it is in balck and white but is fine quality and sound

  4. i got it working now had to encode in ntcs instead of pal but its in wide screen format adn i have a big screen and would prefer it to take up the whole set how would i do that with tmpg

    Generally B&w playback falls into two sets of problems.

    1) You have a .avi that is NTSC when you are in PAL land ( or vice versa )

    2) The connectors between your DVD player and TV need adjusting.
