black and white image

We just got a new Samsung plasma HDTV and we are connecting things to it through the surround sound but all we are getting on all our components are black and white instead of colour. what are we doing wrong?

Welcome to the forums, but like many new members you incorrectly believe that the less information you provide the better. Do you really want this fixed? If so then tell us:
1) What country you live in because it could be relevant to the b&w thing.
2) What type of connection you have between the components and the TV. Are you using HDMI, S-video, composite, component, etc? Explain in more details the type of connections from the components to the surround sound device and from the surround sound device to the TV. Have you EVER connected anything from the surround sound device to a TV in the past and had it be in color?
3) Do ANY of your components work in color on your TV right now? We need to know if everything if failing or if some are working and some are not.
4) Did you buy any component, including the surround sound device and the Samsung HDTV, in a country other than the one where you live? If so, what country?
5) If you just watch broadcast TV is that in color?
