  1. Hey this is a first hand experience the KISS-DP450 player is actually quite amazing.

After converting all my DivX 3 files over to 5.02 (properly) which only takes about 40mins per film, which you can do on batch mode, so leave it going over nite and your sorted! It works perfectly.

I would like to hear some critisims about this player because it is pretty much faultless and does exactley what it sez on the tin!

The only problem at the mo is the price, i got mine for £180, which is a sweet deal cos not only does it play as quality it looks quality aswell

    IM HAPPY

p.s I did notice a few post over the web which looked a bit sus, and orginated from Denmark the birth place of the player. I think this is a dude from KISS doin some sneaky PA, but hey im not

    ITS A DAMN GOOD PLAYER!

  2. I wonder which program do you use when it only takes 40min/movie??
Do you now any good way to get permanent subtitles in it when you have re-encode it to 5.02 or xvid?

I may have some more shortly later all. so, if you want to continue giving
my samples a test go, that would be great.

  4. Converting a whole movie will take more than 40 minute if it's 2 pass msot of the time, depending on settings of course, and lots of people don't have a big computer anyways.

Reburning all my already ripped movies after having reencoded them is not part of my plans:
    -loose quality
    -waste encoding time
    -waste CDRs
Considering you already have it burned, and better looking and ready to watch from any video card's tv output already.

As for looking good, sure, depends mainly on the source. Lots of those people have only look ok, but you can make a lot better looking rips yourself very easily, and it's fast too. You can also keep the AC3...

Anyways, it just seems like an easier and cheaper, and less time consuming method just to use a cable between tv and computer to watch 'em. No hassle, no reencoding, no burning, no nothing, just watch...

  6. Also the TV out function does not exactly match the picture size of your standard TV screen, so you end up with black borders around most of the picture. Hardly a satisfactory solution.

    Hi,

i have just ordered one of these and have been reading around about the player...
in the dvd players section on the left, someone posted that it played a few frames of a 311 encoded file, so in theory maybe it is possible to change the 4cc info of a 311 file to 4 and fool the machine?(there is a program in the tools section)
as soon as it gets delivered, i will be testing this to see what happens.
unless someone puts me out of my misery by trying it first lol

    cheers

    stvee
