  1. just got back from Staples and as usual their prices on the shelf do not reflect the actual price of the item. Not sure how long this will be going for, but they are selling the TDK 10 pack (w cases) 2x media for 14.99
Since i do my shopping at the majors for them (thats how i pay for them with their store cards), this was a great financial find for me (and im sure for some others as well)--enjoy

Yeah, but if you don't live near a microcenter store, which most people don't, it costs $5.99 for the standard shipping.

  6. It's $14.99 for a 10 pack of 4x DVD+R with jewel cases. Only the DVD-R is 2x.

  7. Just ordered 10 5packs from MicroCenter and will pick ut up instore tomorrow or the day after! Can't wait. First the amazing amazon sale for Memorex media and now TDK.......
Is TDK better than Memorex. I really don't know but I guess they are.
Anyways, this is a great price for quality media, staples deal is sooooo lame against microcenter deal!!!!

Staples' deal is not so lame when you consider the fact that Microcenter only has 20 stores nationwide in the US, and Staples has over 1424 stores worldwide. For those people who live near one of the 20 US stores, it's a good deal. For those who don't, but live near a Staples, it's not that great when you add shipping. For those who don't live near either, Staples has free shipping on any size order until 12/27/2003. Microcenter shipping is $5.99 minimum.

  9. Living in Silicon Valley, I tend to forget that not everybody has computer stores at the corner of their houses.
    Thanks for pointing it out.
    You are right.

I know what you mean. I used to live in San Jose and work in Sunnyvale back in the 80s and early 90s. I think you could buy a Big Gulp Slurpee at the 7-11 and get a 486DX for half-price.
Now I live in central Florida near the beach and have to drive 45 minutes each way to get to the nearest CompUSA store.

Yes I walked into Staples and they didn't even have the TKD advertised on the shelf. I took it over to the cashier and it came up $24.99 so I had to get them to punch up their Internet Site and show them were it said the sale price. Thank You!! Mazinz for letting us know about the sale price.

Office depot two weeks ago had buy one, get two free on $19.95 three packs of phillips 2.4x +RW in cases.

So I got 27 for $60 (no rebate waiting, no paying tax on the original $180, just on the final $60).

If you keep an eye out there are a lot of very good media deals. I used to check the internet but am finding much better media deals just in the papers.

  13. Just bought 15 of these 5pk $5.99 tdks from microcenter
I don't know anyhting about these tdk media. It supposed to be good. Just been reading good reviews about this on dvd media section. I need it for my home vhs conversion.

When checking with nero media info it says it is a RICOHJPN
And on the label it says DVD+R47CS5

There's also 100pk spindle available which costs $180 in stores.
And if you do the math buying these for $5.99 for 100 will cost you around $119. So you save like $60

Let us know if these tdk (dvd+r 4x) are really worth buying quality wise.
