What format is between RM and MPEG1?

Hello, I am trying to find a format/card (now using Osprey) for realtime capturing with the filesize/flexibility of RM and the speed of MPEG1 in Windows Mediaplayer.
RM doesn't shuttle that fast in WMPlayer this is what I am missing the most in RM.

Or is there something else I am doing wrong / overlook?

If you capture with Windows Media Encoder To Windows Media 8 and use Windows Media Player 7 or higher, it will probably have faster seeking than RealMedia:
