  1. When I encode vcd's with TMPGenc they playback with a slight pause about once second on my Napa DAV311 portable. Commercial VCD's and the same files encoded with AVI2VCD playback smoothly. I've noticed that TMPGenc encodes about 30 frames at a time, and I suspect that this is the source of the jerkiness.

Any suggestions about how I might fix this?

My only suggestion is to do a SEARCH here in the forums and read the discussions we've had previously on this subject.

You're not the first person to have this issue, and at the rate this subject comes up, you won't be the last.

At what bitrate are you encoding VCD when using AVI2VCD?

  3. I have a napa dav311 try turning off the detect scene change and lower the bitrate a lil I changed the bitrate from 1150 to 1149 and it ran smoothly so just try a few differnt ones to see what works for you oh and its best to use a cd rw when your testing all this cuz it's alot better than wasteing alot of cdr's
