Acoustic Solutions DVD321 ?

Does anyone know anything about the Acoustic Solutions DVD321 ?
I was on the richer sounds website looking for the DVD421, but seems they’re not doing it any more, only the 321, which I’ve never heard of.

Thing that really appealed to me about the 421 was the fact it plays miniDVDs - and there seems to be a simple firmware hack for VCD/SVCD...

Anybody tried one of the 321s ?

OK, I went in to Richer Sounds today, and asked one of the shop guys about the DVD321 (which they're selling at 60GBP/$95), in particular about whether it could play VCD/SVCD. It can't, but then neither can the DVD421 out of the box. But the Richer guy said that you can't hack the 321, because there's no facility to access the firmware via codes from the front panel

This could be a bluff of course - he was giving it a bit of "wouldn't you rather buy the DVD651" chat...

It's also possible you can soft-access the firmware via a socket - I don't know. But judging how the DV camcorder market is going now (in Europe certainly) I wouldn't be at all surprised if DVD player manufacturers were starting to hard-disable multiregion, vcd, macrovision-override etc...
