I am new to this and I have looked at alot of guides on backing up DVD to DVDR that is larger than 4.7G but it seems that the only way this is done is having to to encode. Which generally takes 8-10 hrs just for that. Is there anyway just to split up the movie after you have removed all the extras, on to two disc's?![]()

you could get ifoedit95 and that will split the dvd in two parts once it is ripped to your hard drive. the best thing about it is its free....

Try CCE for the transcodeing. On my Athlon XP1600 it runs at slightly better than realtime. A two hour movie takes about 1hr-50min. useing CCE's 1-passVBR mode.
