ripping dvd under 4.7gb

if i have dvd that is under 4.7gb that i want to put on a dvd+r, do i even have to rip it or anything. can't i just copy the files & directories to my hdd and then burn them straight to dvd+r?

Rip it to your HD. This is required in order to remove the CSS encryption. Then just burn the VIDEO_TS and empty AUDIO_TS folder with your favourite burning program.

dont forget ifoedit, if you dont nothing will happen...
vts sectors must be reset....also you need to be under
4.35 gigs not 4.7, use ifoedit to fix

if the whole disk is 4.3 GB then you don't need to use ifoedit. Just smart ripper (all files) and straight to nero.

Hey, why is that anyway ? I just SHOT myself in the foot the other day with that . USe the DVD2DVD guide (VERY VERY GOOD) and reduced everything down as I shoudl but final result was a HAIR over 4.35 gig (maybe 4.37) ...Well, every thing was beautiful on ATTACK OF THE CLONES EXCEPT..It wont play the last three chapters (there are 61)

Ugg...They just freeze if I go to them. Tired in 3 machines..No dice...HOW CAN I WATCH STAR WARS AND NOT SEE YODA FIGHT !!! LOL

So why does a 4.7 hold 4.35 (is it the 1024 to 1000 conversion ? )

well if the dvd is under 4.7 gigs all you do is use DVD Decrypter is makes a perfect copy of teh orginal.

a) Open DVD Decryptor, go to mode and select read an ISO Image. Save the ISO image to your hard drive.
b) Select to Write an ISO image, write the ISO image to your DVD-R. Easy!

No No...I wasn't clear . The ORIGINAL was over 5 gig. After doing the process, I squeeshed it down to about 4.37.....Seems to be problematic on such a full disk.

So I have re-done to about 4 gig.

so basicly you rip it and got rid of the the extra stuff and all you have is a video file and one audio file. if thats the case you have a m2v and ace file. all you need to do is download ifoedit95 and author new dvd with you two files. it will make them into dvd files. once done burn the files using nero...
