  1. Since my last post (DRU-500A Catastrophe), I've had a little bit of luck with Nero, but RecordNow still makes coasters left and right. For Nero however, I've been using the DVD-ROM (UDF) setting, with multisession turned off, UDF set at 1.02, and burn speed set at 1x.. I name the volume and add all the files to a VIDEO_TS and create the empty AUDIO_TS dir.. The burn goes off successfully, with no errors. The DRU500A recognises the newly burned dvd in the drive, and I'm able to browse the disc and see the files, etc.. Also, it plays well in my standalone player, which is half the battle.. However!! When I try to play the disc with PowerDVD I get an error #89020003 "The DVD disc might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation".. Anyone know what's up with that? the files that were transferred were all done using DVD Decrypter, and I'm using Legacy DVD-Rs. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

PS. Oh yeah, one last thing - I notice at the DVD Decrypter homepage (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/download.asp) they have a bunch of different ATAPI drivers listed for download - ElbyCDIO Driver, Adaptec ASPI Driver, Nero ASPI Driver, etc.. Should I install all of these? I know I have a few, but was wondering if I should have them all. Thanks again

  2. I have very good result with Nero Express, since it creates Audio_TS and Video_TS automaticly, I used to do what you did , it usually ends up with unexplained idiosyncrasies, try Nero Express, you might like the simplicity of it.

Hi there, and thanks for responding. Just got done trying it with Nero Express, and got the same results.. It plays in my standalone fine, and my pc will recognise the burned disc in the drive (you can browse the files, etc.), but it won't play. PowerDVD gives the same error. Anyone have a similar experience?

I just installed WinDVD and tried it - Nothing. WMP won't play DVDs for me (never did), although I know the option is there.. I've gotta think that Nero is somehow not closing the burn successfully or something, though like I said there were no errors reported.. A buddy of mine has a Pioneer DVD burner and has copied several things for me using Legacy DVD-Rs (same as I'm using), and they play fine on my computer. Granted, he uses Prassi software to burn, but I installed that and it won't even recognise the DRU500A.. Any ideas? BTW, would installing all those drivers available on DVD Decrypter's homepage be a good idea, or would that just convolute things even further? Thanx again..

  6. i bet it won't play in a modded ps2 either---

i had been using isobuster on previously burned dvd-r movies to get the files back on my hard drive....video_ts and audio_ts folders...and then using nero dvd-rom (iso) format to burn them as data---played fine in my dvd player, however it did not work in my messiah ps2....i then using imgtools to make the video_ts and audio_ts into a .img file and burned using recordnow max, and it works in both ps2 and dvd standalone...i assume the data format is inferior

also- i got alot of errors when trying to use nero's dvd creator....
best just to stick with primo/recordnow
