  1. Hello.

Im having problems with burning DVD movies. The first time I tried (using nero), I only used ISO, so it played on my computer, but not on my standalone DVD, so I burned the same movie, also this time with Nero, with ISO/UDF instead, but this time I cant even play it on my computer, it doesnt even recognize that there is a DVD in the drive.

So I tried to burn it with VOB instead, but same problem, it wont recognize the DVD as anything, just as the drive would be empty.

I dont know if those two times can be a coinsedence...

    Excuse any bad spelling.

  2. To burn a Video DVD with Nero you need to first author an MPG2 DVD compliant file, then using 5.5.8.2 Nero or newer select DVD-Video as your intended use. Add all vob, ifo and bup files, burn.
If that don't work just use the Authoring sofware to burn.
There are trial versions of software that will work up to 30 days for free.

  4. What settings are you using in the UDF/ISO with Nero?

On mine the UDF is set to physical partition and filesystem version 1.02.

On this setting though it will not play in two dvd players or ps2.

However when I change the filesystem version to 1.50 it then plays in all my dvd players and ps2.

Just a note on this some older dvd players wont recognize 1.50.

With NERO, my DVD only works if made with DVD-ROM UDF , and with 1.02.
If you have problem this way, cange to 1.50 , works if your DVD Player is a new model ( one year at least ).

Forget DVD-ROM UDF/ISO, for my 2 DVD players inmy home donīt works.... but works for some models, you must try.

One sugestion : Use the new NERO 5.5.10.0 , and you can make the firmware update to the new release that makes DVD Region Free, and writes many 1x medias in 2x speeds, and can use the new 4x medias ( but only in 2x speed...) too without problems...

  6. Well, the two last times, I've used VOB to burned the authored DVD with.
And it has failed both time. Ive done exactly as the guide explains how to burn DVD with VOB, but when the burn completes the DVD-ROM drive wont recognize it as anything, nor my standalone DVD players. I should at least be able to read out the folder AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS! But nada.

I dont know what is is, I will try the new nero version anyway.

I use Nero 5569 with no problem in udf/iso mode. Does your VIDEO_TS diectory contain four ifo files and your vob files?
VIDEO_TS directory should be in capitol letters.
