Hi,
I have an old Apex AD-600A player (with loophole menu).
This player is listed on many sites as playing SVCD. I have tried burning SVCD with NERO v5.52.4 at different compatibility settings, using both CDR and CDRW, but none will work (the disc never pass the initializes stage). Any help will very appreciate. Thanks.

I had this problem. Once I upgraded the drive's (not the player, the DVD drive) firmware, SVCDs worked just fine. The vcdhelp.com sample and anytihng i burned with nero
Do a search on apex and firmware. There's one site in particular that'll help but I can't remember the URL for. You'll need to download some files and put them on a CD-R. You then put the disc in your apex and it upgrades automatically. it's not too difficult, but it's recommended that you open your player and disconnect the data cable to do this. Otherwise, your player could interfere and that would be bad.
