I've now entered the DVDR world with a recent RW purchase, so no more svcds, heh.
So some of these movies are going to need to get re-encoded and as much as I like tmpgenc, it's 2 pass is just too slow to do a re-encode with at the bitrates I'm looking at. I'd also like to do 3 and 4 pass VBR's as well.
What do i need to frame serve to CCE 2.6 with? It doesn't seem to like the output files from DV2AVI.
Thanks.

You take the d2v file and you either create and avs script and use avisynth or you run it through the vfapi converter to create a pseudo avi file and then frameserve with virtual dub. With a dvd source using avisynth can be remarkably faster since it doesnt have to do the yuv->rgb conversion. You should really read a guide, CCE isn't something you just figure out as you go along. There is a very good one on this site.

Anyone have a link to a good guide for me? I tried the guide on this site, the "FOOLPROOF" way, and I must be a fool cuz I can't get it to work. I've tried to use the Virtualdub frameserv but cinema keeps closing when I try to open the .vdr.avi file. I've tried *.vdr, *.avi, *.vdr.avi, *.avi.vdr. It all does the same and closes. Getting frustrating. So, can anyone please link me to a guide or help with it. Thanks.
