  1. I just doesn't seem worth making menus for SVCD's, unless you can make it look really good like the original DVD. What do you guys include in your menus? Right now, I just make chapters, but I don't include a menu. Thanks.

  2. Actually, when I rip my DVD's, I just have chapter points. When I create a home movie SVCD, I use DVD Moviefactory, and use the menu I can create there.

Since purchasing my new Sony external DVD burner, no more SVCD for me!

I include everything from the original dvd, within reason. This includes trailers, some short extra's, music video's, up to two commentary tracks (mono,) up to 4 selectable subtitle streams, and all the menu's and additional interactive features, and of course the chapters and chapter selection menu. Just about anything that a DVD can do you can simulate on a SVCD or VCD. I can assure you that you can make the menu's look just as good as the original DVD. The only time you really have to change anything about the menu's is if you have a motion menu or one with sound. Here you have to draw #'s over the button and use the # keys to select each option. Otherwise you can create a series of stills for each button per menu, and then use the next and prev keys to navigate end the enter button to make your selection.

I've even gone as far as to include the DVD Extra content (those html features that are only accessible via a pc.) That is definitely more trouble than it is worth though.
