  2. You either need to reencode it with a lower bitrate (will result in a loss of quality, due to lower bitrate and further encoding process)

Or you could get some 99 min cdr's and overburn it. You need to use software that supports overburning such as nero, and make sure your burner supports overburning also.

Burning as mode 2 (X)VCD you can actually fit 797 MB on an 80 min cdr.

  3. I have actually gotten a movie to fit a 650mb disc. No noticeable loss of quality. I did it with the program Tmpgenc. Click over to the convert section, go to the 'how to fit a movie on one disk'. Follow the instructions to make the template. Now, the original file I recorded (not ripped) from DVD which is crystal clear and about 1gb when done. I ran it through the program over night. It takes a long time (10+ hours for me because I have a very slow PC), but you only have to do it once. It's comes out as a 643mb mpeg that actually Nero reads as VCD compatible. That's it !

  4. A 643 MB file to be VCD compatible would only be approximately 64 minutes in length. If the movie was longer than this and you reduced the bitrate to get it to fit, this is an XVCD. Nero will give a compliany warning error, which you can ignore and create an XVCD (unless you have compliany error checking turned off)
