(If I had 2 DVD player/burners this would be easier, but I only have one)

Is there a good (freeware, hopefull or not) program that copies a DVD movie to your hard drive and then you can burn it from there?

    tried DVD Decrypter just now.

It looked pretty good, copied a DVD to hard drive, but is too big to fit on 4.7 Gig DVD.

Is there one that compresses it?
(or even can copy to hard drive as Mpeg so I can use TEMPgenc to change bitrate to fit onto XSVCD?....I see bunches of Pay programs, but is there a free one?)

  4. well if it is to big you are going to have to rip teh vob files to your hard drive and rencode it. there are many guides on doing that here.

    thanks guys
(looked at doom9 and didn't see this)

I'm trying to put everything onto one disk.....either a compressed DVD or even a compressed SVCD. But everything I've looked it either doesn't work, or is WAY tooooo complicated for this newbie at ripping DVDs.

Is there a easy(real easy) program that will rip a DVD(of 7 Gigs or so) onto one disk of any kind?
(tried DVD2MPG and it was way,WAY too complicated....and the plugins and encoders it said came with it never showed up or worked)

is there any REAL easy one?
