    I just came across this on the Sony website - and I couldnt find any reference to it anywhere on the VCD forums. Apologies if this is a mispost or repeat posting.

    "Firmware version 1.0e .. This new firmware will allow your Dual RW drive to record at 4X on 4X compatible DVD+R media, as well as improve the DVD-ROM reading performance with DVD recordable/rewritable media.."

    Sounds the same as version 1.0d if you ask me

    It's expected to be released on December 9th.

    Nope it isn't

    1.0d only allowed 4x recording on DVD-R.

    1.0e will allow 4x recording on DVD+R


    It will allow improve reaidng speed, which i feel is much needed.
