I have two similar spec PC's, one running XP Pro and the other XP home.
I have recently installed TMPgenc Plus and am using it to convert my M2V and M2A files int SVCD MPG files.
One the XP Pro TMPgenc is able to read the the files and make the MPG, on the XP Home PC it says that the M2V files is un supported!!
It is the same M2V file Im using on both PC's.
So am I missing a CODEC of something that XP needs to support M2V files. (the XP Home PC is new so has not had loads of other apps & codec installed)
Any thoghts???

You need to install an mpeg-2 codec for Tmpgenc to read m2v files. The latest versions only support certain codecs. I can't list them all but if you download and install the Latest PowerDVD demo this will install one of the required codecs. You can the un-install the demo and the codec gets left behind so you don't have to worry about buying PowerDVD just to read m2v files in Tmpgenc.

I already have the full version of Power DVD installed and it will play the M2V files ok.
I have been playing around with TMPEGENC and it will open the M2V files under the MPEG TOOLS options and I can cut them etc etc, but the convert to MPG still reports...
File "xxx.M2V" can not open, or unsupported
Does anybody have any more ideas?
