hey guys, quick question here...I just wanted to know how it was possible to convert an ntsc video to pal. I have some home videos that i want to send back to india as vcd's. I am using an ati tv wonder ve capture card, which works decently, and i have tmpgenc and vcdeasy. I have tried searching for ntsc to pal in the forums but i couldn't find anything that would really help me out. can anyone offer some suggestions? Thanks!!!

When you encode with TMPEGEnc just use the wizard and pick the VCD PAL template. Framerate conversion is automatic and you don't even have to set it to resize, though you might want to adjust it anyway to eliminate any noise from the edges of the video, this is done on page 3 of the wizard.

TMPGEnc only drops or adds frames in its "framerate conversion". While this looks okay to some people, others (including myself) don't like it as MY eyes/brain sees the final result as a regular skipping that is rather annoying...
There are more complicated methods of PAL <--> NTSC conversion which may or may not be worth it depending on how you see the end result of conversion. If you search the forums for PAL to NTSC conversion, you will find plenty of hits.
