I would dearly like to buy and use the MainConcept MPEG Encoder for rendering speed and quality (much better than CCE or TMPGEnc etc.)
However, it has some fundamental problems with aspect ratios and masks (it doesn't do them - I think), and it also doesn't like multiple VOB files and AC3 audio.
To get around this I created a single large VOB file with SmartRipper and a WAV file using DVD2AVI, but however you render it with MainConcept(4:3 or 16:9) it always does it full screen, so to get the correct widescreen format without any clipping and in the correct aspect ratio I have to render it at 4:3 and hit the 16:9 button on my TV.
Please, please is there anybody out there who knows how to use this product to display at 16:9 with black bars top and bottom?
Yours exasperatedly.![]()
