    I've got a 1280X720p mp4 video with either missing/incorrect aspect ratio (Display aspect ratio 2.40:1) instead of 16:9, but by using VLC's "A" I could get the video to play correctly in 16:9...but I need to do this every time I want to play the video.

    I tried mp4box.exe -add "P:\T1.mp4" -par 1=16:19 "P:\New.mp4" to no avail.....please help with the right commands to use, thanks.

  2. par = pixel aspect ratio
    +
    720p has a par of 1:1
    -> -par 1=1:1
    assuming 1 is the trackID of the video stream;
    check with:
    Code:
    MP4Box -info  "P:\T1.mp4"

    Thanks Selur.

    Windows Media Player is playing the video with black bars on top/bottom, but is playing it right @ 1280X720.

    VLC, MPC Home Cinema and SMPlayer are all playing it at wide screen format...., however, as I mentioned earlier I could use the "A" aspect function of both VLC/SMPlayer to toggle the aspect ratio quickly and correctly and the video will play perfectly in 1280X720 with NO black borders on top/bottom.

    The original video have these : 1280X720 @ 1706X720...has this something to do with the video not displaying correctly?

  4. 1. look at it with:
    Code:
    mediainfo --Full "path to file"
    and look for the pixel aspect ratio
    2. typical 16:9 mp4 par is 40:33 (NTSC Material) or 16:11 (PAL Material)
    3. 720p normally isn't anamorphic and therefore has an pixel aspect ratio of 1:1
    (if you are unsure about pixel and display aspect ratio , read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_aspect_ratio)
