would a stand alone vcd player rather than a dvd/vcd player improve the quality of the picture on a 33in tv?

the quality i get on my computer is great but on tv through my dvd the picture is just too blocky and pixilized.

i recorded these with a vdr recorder i don't know if that'll affect my answer or not but better i tell you.
