I am in the process of decluttering and would like to get rid of all the VCD I have. I know there are HDTV media players out there that either comes with a Hard drive or can be hooked up to a USB driver. Can anyone suggest a media player that I can store VCD without needing to convert if possible? If not, can you also provide me a link to the instruction of how to convert it so that I can play in the media player?

  2. It is fairly easy to extract the MPEG1 video from a VCD and most media players should support MPEG1, but check before you buy.

Note that ISOBuster, in the link in mh2360's post, is not free. VCDGear can also do this, but less reliably. Recently one of our members recommended using ISOBuster for this job rather than VCDGear and I think he was right.
I've had weird problems with VCD rips made with VCDGear.

The free version of VCDEasy will also do this well. It works fine under XP. I do not know if it will run under newer OS's. But as it's free, you've got little to lose in trying.
