I'm going out on a limb here to make a guess.
The one time I've had problems with audio in Maestro was when I tried to add an AC-3 (aka DolbyDigital) file. It gave me a minor message when adding, then later balked when trying to create a Disc Image.
I comes down to this: AC-3 files can be encoded in either LittleEndian / BigEndian byte ordering (aka Intel / Motorola). I believe I had set it to the Intel order. When I re-encoded using the Motorola-ordered setting, all was well. So just check for that in any case-even if it doesn't pertain to this particular issue.
I later found that there is info about this in the manual. I just hadn't looked thoroughly enough.
HTH,
Scott
