Hey guys! I'm just new to all this video editing stuff and want to get into it. I was looking into buying a cheap capture card for me to transfer old video to digital video and probably to SVCD format and stumbled on ATI's DV Wonder card.
It's pretty cheap and was wondering if it can capture analog video using some firewire adapter cable type thingy (<-apologies...don't know the actual term) or through a miniDV camcorder hooked up to an analog source.
I was also wondering if it's a good card to capture DV onto the pc to edit the video to make some kind of mini movie with adobe premiere and after effects and such 'cause I've always wanted to get into that stuff.
Thanks!![]()

ATI DV wonder is a IEEE1394 card, that communicate with minDV camcorder. It does not capture Video. If you plan to buy a digital camcorder then you can use DV wonder. Make sure you pick the cam with Analog pass-thur.
