  1. I posted the the following message a few days ago and I didn't not receive a response. I know someone should be able to help me.

I have been converting avi files with Nero into SVCD format with OK results, but since a friend of mine loaned me an XVCD and I saw the quality that it has, I have been trying to burn a XVCD without favorable results. I have used 3 different versions of Nero, I convert the avi into MPEG using the same template that he sent me that he uses with TMPG, it plays fine on my computer after that, I use the same settings that he uses with Nero, even used his version of Nero with his setting and when it plays the sound goes up and down like it's dragging, the picture is fine. Since this is my first post, I may have forgotten to tell you something. Let me know, hopefully someone out there knows what I can try next. I even sent my friend 21 seconds of the mpeg and he burns it without a problem. Thanks in advance.

  2. I'm not sure if you are using Nero to encode...but,if you are....don't!

Nero is a fine piece of burning software but for encoding it sucks.

Use TMPGE and one of the wonderful templates supplied here on this site under Tools > Templates for TMPGE.

I use Kwags Templates for XVCD with great success.

  3. Take a look at some of the conversion guides on this site. You can find them by looking at the left hand column of this page under HOWTO, CONVERT. You never know, you might find your answer there. If not, a forum search might also be helpful. If still stuck, come back with some more specific details and we will see if we can help.
