  1. Okay, I'm new to this and I've been trying unsuccessfully to burn a working SVCD. I've tried using BBMPEG to convert my avi to MPEG2 from premiere, and I've also tried exporting an avi from Premiere and converting to MPEG2 using TMPGEnc. Then I've burned the SVCD using both Nero 5.5 and VCD Imager. Either way, neither my standalone DVD Player or my computer will play the disc. PowerDVD says "Unsupported Disc Format" Windows media player plays the MPEG2 files fine, but after burning it will not play them from the disk either. I've burned several VCDs without problem. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. First thing to do is check to make sure that your DVD player will support SVCDs.

Then see if it's particular about which CDR's it will read.

My DVD player won't play SVCD's properly, but if I encode them at 704x576 then it plays fine.

    SVCD is much more tricky.
