  1. I'm thinking about buying the version of Pinnacle Studio 8 that doesn't come with any hardware. It's the $100.00 version. What I want to know is if it will work with a Gainward Geforce4 Ti4200. My specific card is the 128DDR XP 650 Golden Sample.

    Thanks.

The only Geforce cards that have video capture are the cards built with Personal Cinema. Xtasy Everything has it for Geforce 2.. I currently don't know of any Geforce 4 MX cards that have Personal Cinema. if you're card is just a regular GF4 card then no, you can't capture any video with it.

  3. This Gainward Golden Sample have capture too... the guy wouldn't ask if Pinnacle Studio works with that with no capture device! LoL!

  4. Yes, my card has capture. It came with Wincoder, but that program isn't made anymore and doesn't work the best. I can capture, but I want to use the best program I can without having to buy expensive software/hardware packages. I would buy a DV card, but I don't have a camera. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  5. From my understanding, your GeForce 4 has no inputs, right? Any reasons why it wouldn't work then? (you can anyways have 2 capture cards, just a matter of selecting the right one...)

  6. I have a VIVO input. It also came with a spider cable that has S-Video In, S-Video Out, Composite In, and Composite Out. I've already done some capturing tests with it and it works. I just need better capturing software that has more features. Right now I'm trying to capture video from Laserdisc. I have a Pioneer CLD-D703. I'm using the S-Video out from the LD player to the VIVO in on the GeForce card. For audio, I'm using the digital coaxial out from the player to the digital coaxial input on the spdif card that came with my motherboard. The sound is very nice. I just don't know the best capturing program to use. I've heard a lot about Pinnacle, but I don't know if it is capadable with WDM drivers like my Geforce card uses.

If it has capture, then it has Personal Cinema.. And yes, the software will work. All personal cinema are built on WDM, which Studio 8 supports fully.
