  1. I just got Query iDisk Writer as Well as Query VCD creator Personal, both with the full manual and video/audio samples. I have been looking for these programs for a long time, and I have been using them non-stop since recieving them, they work wonderfully, it really makes it very easy to make an interactive vcd with menus and all. If anyone is interested in these apps, i have them on my hotline server @

  2. Does your iDiscWriter / VCDmaker crash with MACOS9.1 on a G4 when you want to 'compile' a VCD-image containing a selection menu?

  3. Yeah, I've had a very similar experience with iDiskWriter.. it would crash almost immediately if I tried to do anything at all interesting. I finally gave up. Perhaps this is a newer (or even older, more bug-free) version? What system are you running it so successfully on?

  5. I went back and checked. The two versions I had played with were 1.1.1b4e and 2.01e, both of which gave me crashing problems under Mac OS 9.1 if I remember right, but maybe Mac OS 9.2.1 mysteriously fixed the problem somehow? What is the version number of the one you've had success with?

  6. FWIW, I just tried both versions again, and both seemed to be crashing just as hard as ever for me. Perhaps I don't know how to use them (I must admit, I didn't even glance at the manual), but my first attempt was to encode a Movie to MPEG and it died. I don't think I'll spend any more time experimenting with this, but if lots of people have success with it, please indicate what versions of the program and the system you are using and what functions you've tried (for example, did you use the Query software to encode the MPEG or just create the file structure?)..
