  1. I want to backup some DVD movies. My kids broke a DVD and now I think it is time to back all my DVDs up. I was looking at a Panasonic LF-D311SC. First I was wondering if this is a good drive for what I want to do. Also I was looking at a software called DVDXCOPY. Will this softeware really make a one to one copy of a dvd. Copying all the menus and extras. 1 last item where is the best place to buy blank DVD media. Thank you

  2. the Panasonic drive is just as good as any other i guess, but if you could spare the extra bucks you should get the sony dru-500a. as far as DVDXCOPY goes its a rip off. i guess if you have no idea how to copy dvds and you don't want to learn how. i guess that would be the way to go. you can get other software for free that dose the same thing. DVDXCOPY will copy everything but i prob take two dvds to do it because most dvds are dvd9. as far places to buy dvds i get mine here http://americal.com or http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/

  3. Thanks for the info. So if I understand even DVDXCOPY is not going to give me a true 1-1 copy. I want to make an exact replica of the DVD I have. If I have to put it on 2 DVD's I might as well just go to a SVCD. I have had much sucess with that. I would like to preseve the DVD just like it is. 1 Copy only with all extras.(can you burn a multi layer dvd? Do they sell dvd9?) Is there any way to do this. 1 More thing I could propably spring the extra for the sony. Any reason why its better.
