Whats A Good Mpg2Avi Encoder

I want to encode my mpg's to avi to save space, i also want a program dat lets me edit da qualty of the mpg , like making it a letterbox, so when im done converting the output avi file will be avi, i have used Flask MPG, but it go es to 92% adn says runtime error, so i need a new one, thnx. pls msg back or emaeil me at pimpdaddy_4real@hotmail.com

try a newer version of flask, i had some problemz with .94
or so, and .6 or so fixed it (had a corrupted mpg file). plus it lets you crop, add watermarkz (havent tried it though), export, frameserv etc,..

Depending on the mpg file you have, virtual dub will sometimes let you import mpg filez, edit, and encode to avi, divx, etc....

Virtual Dub is a great MPEG-1 to AVI converter. If you have a MPEG-2 file you have to use DVD2AVI and VFAPI in advance.

Thnx for da info, but i already tried FlaskMpEG and when im done encoding i cant open the avi file. what codec did u use to compress the video and the audio in FlaskMPEG?

I also use virtualdub for this. You can use the crop filter, resize, all that, and change to any divx codec. It works great.

use the divx 3.11 alpha codec. or the new divx4, which has multipass.
You couldnt open the avi in what? VDub or media player?

I used Media Player to open my avi file dat i encoded. In FlaskMPEG da codecs i used to compress the video is the new divx4 and i tried da divx 3.11 alpha codec, and for audio i chose mpeg layer III, i wanna know what optinons u chose.
And i dun really like virtual dub, because it takes longetr and u can make da movie letterbox or edit it. Thnx for the help, msg me back
