  1. Hi all,
jus ripped a Star wars 1 DVD and tried converting it to SVCD using the following

    1)Smartripper
    2)DVD2AVI
    3)TMPGENC
    4)Nero

Then i jus tried a small portion to see the effects and burn it to CDR to see the quality.

I found tat the motion are jerky. It's as if the refresh rate is too slow and u see literally trailing images after the hands have moved. Any idea how i should solve this??

I set TMPGENC to encode at 2200 constant bitrate. And interlace

    Pls advice

why set to interlace. im pretty sure its a progressive film.

in dvd2avi set filed operation to force film. then save your project.

in tmpgenc use the SVCD (NTSCfilm) template and then just change your bitrate to what you desire and under advanced set your source aspect ration to 16:9(ntsc) or 4:3(ntsc). whichever version of the movie you have. this should make your film look great.

just a note: your problems seem to be caused by setting this to interlaced.
