I bought a ME-320 case (the silver one every one sells) thats USB 2.0.
Anyhow, last night I hooked up my internal a04 to the case and tried to
burn a DVDR.
Nero and Roxio (and XP) all see the drive. However, when I go to burn a
DVDR, nero locks up (program not responding) almost instantly.. i see the message "caching files" and thats it. Roxio Easy CD creator does the same thing.
It's not the connection or casing, since I can burn a CDRW in the same setup.
I am however able to burn DVDR's just fine is I have the drive connected directly to the EIDE port.
The motherboard is a new Gigabyte P4 board with the NEC/Intel USB 2.0 chipset. OS: Windows XP SP1, Firmware: 1.31, write speed: 1X.
Nero: lastest 5.5.9.17 and latest 5.2.xxxx EasyCD Creator.
Anyone have this problem or have any suggestions?

I give up.. I can't get it to play. Drive is on the IDE now. Perhaps I'll swap this external for a firewire case, see if thats any better.
