I have a pacific Digital 1x DVD-RAM/-R burnner and a old Creative DVD-ROM. I put the dvd-r disk I recorded on my panasonic E-30 in the DVD-ROM drive and a DVD-R blank in the burnner and simple use Nero to copy from didk to disk. Since my burnner is only 1x it takes about 55minutes to copy a full DVD disk. It does not matter wheather there is 1hr, 2hr,4hr or 6hrs of video, depending on the E-30 mode I used.

Does your DVD-RAM also support DVD-R?
