DVD Writers are already down to about $200. If I wait until about March to buy one, what do you think the price will be then? The reason I'm waiting is just to make sure that I get the right kind (dvd-r or dvd+r). I've thought about getting one that does both but they're more expensive. I think I'll wait and see. If they go down to about $150 then I'll get one, when do you think that'll happen.

There are better times but not really a right time for computer equipment. Prices keep going down and peripherals continue to offer more bang for the buck. buy it when you feel you're good and ready and be happy with it. I bought my Pioneer 104 for about $250 and even through I could probably have bought it at a better price now it would always be the same story no matter when I bought it.
