Subhash VCD player (which is FREEWARE, by the way), has to be by far the most simpilifed and reliable VCD player I have ever installed. It works every single time without fail, provided the VCD was properly encoded and burned.
I've read in several places that Windows 98 users all over find this to be the easiest VCD player to use. And of course, I have no complaints either. The setting are set to automatically read your default CD Rom drive as soon as it is started. You simply pop in the disc, click on the program, and the movie starts instantly.
I'm not exactly sure where I found it - funny thing is, it's been so long since I downloaded it (couple months) that it might have even been from this site - lol. Just thought I would share this tip for anyone having problems getting a decent software based VCD player to work on Windows 98.
