  1. just had a quick question i am using virtual dub to cut my divx files inhalf so i can make them into vcds well i cut the first half and save it as avi, and it works great then i go to do the second half of the movie and i do the exactly the same thing as the first half but when i save it as an avi and watch it before i burn it as a vcd the audio is so off from the video why is it working for the first half but not the second?

I'm having the same problem, when i merge 2 SVCD's together, the 1st half is fine, but the 2nd half is off by 40 seconds.

  3. Why don't you first convert the movie with TMPGenc, then cut the mpeg with TMPGenc instead. Much easier this way.

  4. i don't know how to convert with that and when i use that to encode it takes forever but when i use nero it is much faster but i guess that don't matter since i am just converting right?

  5. I dunno. Never had problems like that. Of course, you have to cut on a keyframe. Otherwise, I have no idea.

  6. what is a key frame? am i just cutting the movie in the wrong spot or something like that?

  7. By the timeline there are left and right arrows with key icons, use these to select the frame to cut on. Make sure you have video set to direct stream copy, and not full processing mode.

  8. Look at the guides to the left, there are instructions on how to use TMPGenc. It's much better then Nero in terms of quality.

  9. that tmpgenc is very slow when i encode the movie it says it will take 24 hrs to encode when i use nero it only takes about 3 hrs. i am not having problems encoding it is only spliting the movie the audio is very messed up but the first half of the movie works and not the second half?

  10. Nero may be quicker, but it is also an inferior encoder to TMPGEnc.
