  1. Hey,

I have encoded an ep of Samurai x from avi to mpg(vcd)

The quality is very bad but what I don't understand is when I open it in VirtualDub the quality is as good as in the original avi, why is this?

PLEASE try to choose a subject that describes your topic. Edited by baldrick.

  4. Please do not double post

If you encode you will get some quality loss going from one compressed format to another.

Change your encoding specifications to try to get better results.

I guess you're getting this heat from some of the 'elite old guard' because of your subject title.
It would be in your interests to specify what problem you have rather than simply state 'why?'.
For some reason it pisses people off, for other's it just simply makes them less likely to help

It would also help if you stated what encoder used (i.e. TMPGenc, CCE, Nero etc) and what setting you used/changed etc etc (if any), what format the avi was in (i.e. DivX, XViD, OGM) ????????????
