  1. Has anyone succesfully transcoded these with CCE yet? Every one of my conversions ends up stuttering on some motion scenes. I don't know what's causing it. I've tried nearly every option possible, but nothing looks good. Here's what bitrate viewer says about it, can anyone help with this one?

    Num. of picture read: 31
    Stream type: MPEG-2 MP@ML VBR
    Resolution: 720*480
    Aspect ratio: 16:9 Generic
    Framerate: 29.97
    Nom. bitrate: 8456000 Bit/Sec
    VBV buffer size: 112
    Constrained param. flag: No
    Chroma format: 4:2:0
    DCT precision: 10
    Pic. structure: Frame
    Field topfirst: Yes
    DCT type: Field
    Quantscale: Nonlinear
    Scan type: Alternate
    Frame type: Interlaced
    Notes:

Eh, I figured it out... It was a field order problem. The question is why was the field order wrong when bitrate viewer says field topfirst:yes. In CCE, I needed to uncheck upper field first to get a good encode

Never check upper field 1st, despite what Bitrate Viewer says. There is a bug in CCE SP 2.5 which affects the encode if it is checked.

  3. I don't know where I read this (it pretty well agress with the earlier post), but CCE 2.5SP reverses the "logical" order of field position. One of the handy dandy features of 2.5 Course it may have something to do with my permanent evaluation copy
