  1. Hi,

I have followed the Xvid to vcd guide posted here, but have some problems.

I convert and burn "About a Boy" Xvid mpg to vcd using Tmpgenc and Nero after having split it and the first one comes out fine, picture quality perfect and sound excellent. But the second CD comes out kind of jumpy like slow motion between the frames or jumpy but the sound is excellent and the picture is fine. It is just a bit weird and hurts the eyes after a while of watching the second CD. Any ideas why this happens?

    Thanks guys ...

  2. Did you split the file in TMPGEnc? If so, you might have loaded a wrong template for your second part (NTSC instead of PAL or vice versa) because it sounds like framerate problem.

  3. Yeah, I split it in Tmpgenc using the Source Range option. I checked the template and it was PAL the same that I encoded the first one with.

  4. Hmmm...if you've still got your XviD AVI, use Virtual Dub to cut it in half and then encode the second half again - a lot of people experience audio problems in second half of the movie when using TMPGEnc to cut it, your problem might be related to that.

  6. "Virtual Dub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the avi ... 69969 ms skew ... 118.5 +- 22.7kps"

I have extracted the audio as a wav, and split the xvid then encoded it the second part but the audio is not in sync ... how can I sync the audio ?

    Thanks again.

  7. Is your AVI (the second part after splitting with VD) having the same off synch problem or just the final Mpeg?

  8. I used Virtual Dub and coverted the audio to a wav and split the avi, but when I save the avi or encode it as vcd the audi is out of sync, by 6 or more seconds.

Maybe this is a Xvid thing as I can encode Divx with no problems at all.

    Thanks again ... again...
