I stopped by CompUSA and I got a set of 16 CDs (99min).
Before I got them I check and my Mitsumi can write 99 min(overburn).
    Well guess what????
    It does work.
I make SVCDs and I like IAuthor. Why I like to have subtitles too.
The mpeg I can put on those CD is a max of 945MB.
I thought I should drop this here for who is interested.

  4. Good stuff! I ordered the Mitsumi CR-4808TE for 89 quid this morning because my old burner just refuses to do anything. I chose it over other burners because I'd read that it can do 99min CDs whereas other "better" burners could "only" go up to 90min. Hopefully the Mitsumi will handle the 120min CDs whenever Disc4you get round to releasing them for sale.

  5. I have burned upto 98min. and 32 seconds on these as a SVCD which read over 1 gig. I have a HP 9100i that is a 8x4x32x. By the way Compusa said my burner would not work with these CD-R's. So much for salesmen.
Now the 120min. CD's may or may not work with the current recorders, but I do know that NERO 5.5 will record upto 120min. and do data to 1050MB.

To see the list of suported CDRW drives that can use 99min CDRs go to: http://www.disc4you.com or http://www.disc4you.com/news/99min.html
I have tryed an Acer 1832A is does overburning but,it stoped at 98% with Nero 5.5.2.9 I tryed it in my Apex600a it worked...the end of the disc is not there but still it works. I used DVD2MPG squeezer and the TMPG encoder. The movie is 1:41:19:20 long. I just set TMPG to lowest setting on audio. Sounds ok to me. I await my Mitsumi4805 in a couple of days , till then =)
