  1. Would like to know how to take a movie on my hard drive and split into two files so that I can burn the movie on to two disks.

  2. If its an avi file use virtualdub, select the section of the movie on the timeline that you want as the first half and then save as. Repeat for second half, be sure to have direct stream copy selected in the video properties or you will end up with a huge uncompressed avi file. If it is an mpeg, use TMPGEnc's mpeg tools, merge and cut option. Again select the portion of the movie you want select a new filename eg "movie cd1.mpg" and click on run. Repeat for second half. IF it is a VCD compliant file make sure you select mpeg1 videocd from the drop down menu.
