  1. Hi:
I tried the Sasami DVD player off the VCD help link and ran into problems. First, it would not play. Secondly, when I tried to uninstall the program it left a mess in my registry and screwed up my file type relations in Windows Explorer. This thing just about acted like a virus!
To remove the program I was not successful with Windows remove program. I had to physically go into Explorer and delete the directory and then run "regedit" and find and delete all references and keys:
    1. "Sasami2K"
    2. "Sasami2000"
    3. "Sasami"

It also played havok with my existing DVD player and related programs. When I tried to install the WINDVD player plugin for Media Player as part of the $20 fix I was informed during install that there already was a DVD encoder on the system and to uninstall it. Unfortunately I can't find this DVD encoder so apparently Sasami has another registry entry that I can't find. Not sure if this is also due to Windows XP automatic update pulling away DVD capabilities from Media Player 8.0.

Has anyone else had this experience? If so, are there any other considerations? If I was not any more sure I would think this program was a virus but Norton does not find any viruses on my system.
