This spans several forums, but this seemed the most appropriate. I'm going to be capturing NTSC from a VHS through an All-in-Wonder card and want to make DVD-video out of it. The guides cover (S)VCD conversion and DVD authoring, but I haven't found a nice DVD conversion guide yet. I have TMPEnc and CCE at my disposal. Does anybody have suggestions for software/settings/etc? Also, although it is a bit out of the scope of this forum, can anybody recommend a reasonable capture resolution since it will be run through this conversion? The intended final product is a DVD archive of old family home video. Thank to everybody for their advice.

and for cce you can checkout doom9s guides...but they are probably most optimized for dvd rip encoding. -

close but good.
One thing I do before I capture is set the tracking to manual on my VCR and then look for dropping frames while I adjust it.
