  1. This spans several forums, but this seemed the most appropriate. I'm going to be capturing NTSC from a VHS through an All-in-Wonder card and want to make DVD-video out of it. The guides cover (S)VCD conversion and DVD authoring, but I haven't found a nice DVD conversion guide yet. I have TMPEnc and CCE at my disposal. Does anybody have suggestions for software/settings/etc? Also, although it is a bit out of the scope of this forum, can anybody recommend a reasonable capture resolution since it will be run through this conversion? The intended final product is a DVD archive of old family home video. Thank to everybody for their advice.

and for cce you can checkout doom9s guides...but they are probably most optimized for dvd rip encoding.

    close but good.

One thing I do before I capture is set the tracking to manual on my VCR and then look for dropping frames while I adjust it.
