  1. Is there such a thing? The comparison guide suggests TMPGEnc, and says it's free. I've been using that for a while, and it's great, but it's a time limited demo for MPEG-2. When my trial started to run out, I tried bbMPEG. It kind of works, but it's slow, and it won't let me use VirtualDub as a frame-server, which means I can't edit out commercials. Any suggestions for free or low cost MPEG-2 conversion?

I am fairly certain that bbmpeg is the only truly free mpeg2 encoder.

If you want a cheap mpeg2 encoder than TMPGenc is definitely the only logical choice, as its quality and capabilites rival other encoders that cost thousands of dollars.

  5. My friend has a copy of TMPGencPlus, he bought it and now is trying to sell it and a whole bunch of other stuff to people. Go and e-mail him ****edited****** I'm sure that he'll give it to you for around $10, thats how much he usually sells stuff. I got it for free, just had to give him a cdr...but I'm no good in doing business

Shadowrider I seriously doubt your friend has a licence to distribute TMPGenc so he is simply selling warez. What he is doing is obviously illegal and suggesting that others buy warez from him is a direct violation of this board's rules. Please do not let this happen again.

TMPGEnc is an excellent piece of software and well worth the $50
