Apex dropping support for VCD

Yes, this has been brought up in the forums before.

Apex probably wants to skimp on paying Philips for the license. For VCD playback, all I can say is that from the comments of many members that there are better players out there...

I agree. But when I read Apex dropped VCD support, even though Apex is not on my list of preferred DVD players, it makes question the choice of mpeg 1 layer 2 audio for DVDs.
