Auto login is failing

Thus far everytime I've visited the site today I've had to re-login, even with the auto login preference selected. Kind of a hassle.

I have found that the auto login no longer works on my pc at work, but it still works on my pc at home. Strange.

me too. Can't find a cookie from vcdhelp either (I presume autologin is cookie based)

It does work for me...but I changed some cookie settings anyway and I also tested it in opera and old netsape 4.71 and it does work fine.

Let me know if it works better...if not I will find what is wrooooooong. It is a commmmon problem but with no easy solution. I checked www.phpbb.com and there are lots of different tips.

I have also found that I am occasionally being automatically logged out. I then have to log in again.

I use win 98se at work and XP pro at home

one problem is if you are using only vcdhelp.com/forum and some times www.vcdhelp.com/forum

I will fix so all links point to www.vcdhelp.com/forum/ and also automatically fix so it always goes to www.vcdhelp.com/forum/.

Are you using explorer ? or some other browsers? I'm using explorer 6 and it works fine most time. Do you first go to vcdhelp.com and click on the forum link? or directly to vcdhelp.com/forum or?

I am using explorer 6.0.2600.0000. I access the forum via the reply notification links on the emails and through the link at VCDhelp.com. I have VCDhelp.com set as my home page, I dont go straight to the forum url I always follow a link. At the moment auto login is'nt working whan I access the forum either way. I am using XP pro. I will try it when I get to work this morning on my 98se machine, see if the same thing is happening.

Auto login is still working on my PC at work (win98se), this is the opposite way round to my original post where it did'nt work at work, but worked at home.

problem solved. i installed norton system works and ran almost everything that came with it and now auto login is working again!!! :P
